Current Projects
Education work
Charlotte’s practice spans most areas of dance provision within the UK having delivered on all levels in education from children’s centres/foundation stages, through primary and high school provision to guest lecturing on FE and HE courses. Outside of education, community practice, CAT schemes and working with dancers with learning & physical disabilities is the backbone of her delivery. Although she enjoys the opportunity to work with dancers of all ages and abilities, early years and primary age dance is her niche. In recent years she has become a lead artist for the NSCD partnership with OFSTED outstanding Hillcrest Academy, running weekly afterschool provision, summer schools and embedding dance within the national curriculum through teacher CPD and developing methods of using dance to teach STEM.
Creative Work
As a choreographer Charlotte has received independent commissions from the Danish Talent Academy, Assembly House Leeds and NSCD Certificate in Higher Education course, as well as regularly creating on her community classes for the Dance Studio Leeds and LB Academy. Her company ACCA is resident company at Slung Low, and partnered with Yorkshire Dance, The Dance Studio Leeds, ProDanceLeeds and Rural Arts. Previously commissioned by Ilkley Literature Festival, they have also won the Leeds Summer Group Show 2020, and received ACE funding for a R&D of Cautivas, a new project for 2021. They are currently collaborating with the award winning theatre company Barrel Organ to create a large scale community project and German company Vier-D for a cross borders collaboration between Leeds and Dortmund. The full length show of their original sketch Occupational Hazard premiered in December 2022 at Slung Low thanks to support by ACE.
